Galway Bay to Cork City
I have long been fascinated by the ancient kingdom of Wessex, the Salisbury Plain, the Ridgeway, and the ancient civilisations that existed there, usually above the tree line, for thousands of years.
The east Anglican coast from Kings Lynn to the Stour with its powerful echoes of previous intense coastal trading activity not only with London and the East Coast but also with Flanders, has long been a source of interest. Many of the once busy harbours are either silted up or simply washed away.
Cornwalls northern coastline along with the Scilly Isles and the Great Granite Moors with their traces of ancient settlements are bleak and forbidding.
